Genesis is setting the stage on fire at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed with the dynamic debut of the GV60 Magma Concept. This marks the first time a Magma model will be seen in action since the high-performance program’s official launch in March. Buckle up, because this is just the beginning for Genesis Magma!
3 Dynamic Debuts at Goodwood
Leading the charge is the GV60 Magma Concept, driven by none other than Genesis brand partner and six-time Le Mans winner, Jacky Ickx. As the GV60 Magma Concept races up the iconic Goodwood hillclimb, it’s clear that Genesis is serious about high performance. And it’s not just the GV60 Magma making waves; the G80 EV Magma Concept also makes its global dynamic debut today.
Joining the excitement is the G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife, a souped-up G70 3.3T model built for passenger rides at Germany’s legendary Nürburgring track. This will be its first appearance in action in the UK, showing off its capabilities alongside the GV80 Coupe Concept.
Production for GV60 Magma Aimed at Q3 2025
The GV60 Magma Concept was first unveiled at Genesis House New York on March 25, launching Genesis’s high-performance Magma program. With an eye on maximizing both aesthetics and performance, Genesis aims to create high-end variants of each model in their lineup. The GV60 Magma Concept, in particular, showcases enhanced battery and motor technology, improved chassis dynamics, and optimized aerodynamics.
Set to hit the market in Korea in the third quarter of 2025, the GV60 Magma will be the first production model from the Magma program. Europe will follow with sales in the fourth quarter. The production model will closely resemble the concept, ensuring that the high standards of the Magma program are met while adhering to regional regulations.
Genesis Magma: A New Era of Performance
Magma models are designed with a wider and lower body, exclusive chassis and suspension components, and a Magma-exclusive sound system for an unparalleled driving experience. The dynamic stance and lower center of gravity of the GV60 Magma Concept make for a stable yet thrilling ride.
Moreover, the human-machine interface (HMI) in Magma models offers a cutting-edge graphical user interface (GUI), displaying only essential data and functions to enhance the driving experience. Genesis Magma vehicles will embody “Unspoken Dominance,” “Captivating Control,” and “Sharpened Immersion.”
Genesis at Goodwood
This year marks Genesis’s fourth consecutive appearance at Goodwood, and they are going bigger than ever with their largest stand to date. The two-story installation near the hillclimb starting line invites visitors to experience the essence of Korean automotive excellence.
On display are the GV60 Magma Concept, G80 Magma Special, and X Gran Berlinetta Concept on the first floor, with the GV60, Electrified GV70, and Electrified G80 on the second floor. Racing legend Jacky Ickx will be holding autograph signings throughout the weekend, giving fans a chance to meet the man behind the wheel.
